Bringing Bronze Back to Everyday Life
Zhu Junmin
Continuing his family legacy, Zhu Junmin is one of the most influential inheritors of China’s bronze architectural techniques. With over 30 years dedicated to bronze craftsmanship, he has contributed to some of the most representative and contemporary architectural works in modern China, including Xiangji Temple in Hangzhou, Dongji Pagoda, the main venue of the G20 Hangzhou Summit, and the Hangzhou National Version Museum.
In the realm of art, he has created works such as Molten Bronze Zen Paintings, Molten Bronze Offerings, and Langcai Bronze Paintings. Together with his father, Zhu Bingren, he built China’s first Bronze Sculpture Art Museum – the Jiangnan Bronze House.
In 2008, he founded the brand “Zhu Bingren · Bronze” and established a cultural and creative art gallery at the Palace Museum. Through the modern interpretation of traditional aesthetics, he has brought traditional bronze culture back into everyday life, revitalizing a craft that had been gradually fading in contemporary China.
